Christmas charity outreach to newborns and mothers

Christmas Charity Outreach to Newborns and Mothers

For Christmas 2024, DaMaC extended a heartwarming outreach to the newborn babies and mothers at Wakiso Health 4 in Wakiso District. As part of our ongoing mission to inspire hope to vulnerable communities, we recognized the importance of ensuring that even the most basic needs are met during the season of giving.

On the day of the outreach, around 50 newborns were the recipients of baby bedsheets, offering them comfort and warmth during their early days. These simple yet essential items provide a sense of security and well-being to the infants and help improve their health and comfort in their early months.

In addition to the newborns, the mothers of these babies were also included in the outreach. Each mother received a package of basic foodstuffs, aimed at alleviating some of the daily burdens they face. The food items provided the mothers with essential nutrition, supporting their health and well-being as they care for their newborns.

Impact Highlights:

  • Provided baby bedsheets to 50 newborns, offering comfort and warmth during their early days
  • Distributed essential food packages to mothers to support their nutrition and well-being
  • Built stronger relationships with healthcare providers for future collaborations
  • Brought joy and emotional support during the festive season when many families face increased needs
  • Raised awareness about maternal and infant health needs in the community

The event was filled with smiles and joy, as beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance. Many of the new mothers shared how meaningful it was to feel supported during what can be a challenging time, especially for those with limited resources.

This outreach served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community support, especially during the festive season when many families are in need. It also strengthened our partnership with Wakiso Health 4, opening doors for future collaborations to address maternal and infant health needs in the community.

"On behalf of the entire team at Wakiso Health IV, I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to DaMaC Organization for your generous Christmas charity outreach 2024. Your thoughtful donation to the newborn babies and mothers in our maternity ward brought immense joy and warmth during this special time of year." — Nakabugo Harriet, Manager, Maternity Ward, Wakiso Health IV

Community Clothing Outreach in Katubwe

On March 20th, 2024, DaMaC organized a community clothing outreach, bringing together a spirit of generosity and unity in Katubwe Village. On this day, over 200 residents of Katubwe were gifted with clothing, much of which had been generously donated by people in Dubai.

The donations, facilitated through the organization's founder, showcased the international reach and support that DaMaC had garnered over the years. This event demonstrated how global connections can be leveraged to address local needs, creating a bridge of compassion and support across continents.

The event took place on the compound of Katubwe Gospel Church, where hundreds of residents gathered to receive their clothing, including men, women, and children. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and gratitude as community members selected items that would help meet their basic needs and provide comfort in their daily lives.

  • Strengthened our relationship with the Katubwe community, building on previous outreach efforts

For many recipients, these donations represented more than just clothing – they provided dignity, comfort, and a sense of being cared for. Children were particularly excited to receive new clothes, with many expressing how special it felt to have items that fit well and looked nice.

This event marked a significant milestone in the organization's journey, as it demonstrated the widespread impact of their work and the strong community bonds that had been nurtured through their charitable efforts. It also reinforced DaMaC's ongoing commitment to the Katubwe community, where the organization had first begun its outreach work in 2021.

The success of this clothing distribution event reaffirmed the importance of addressing basic needs as a foundation for community development and well-being. By meeting these fundamental requirements, DaMaC helps create the conditions where hope can flourish and individuals can focus on other aspects of their lives, such as education, employment, and community engagement.

Clothing Donation to Children in Katubwe

As the years passed, DaMaC Organization continued its mission to serve the community. On July 20th, 2023, the organization once again returned to Katubwe Village, where it hosted a clothing donation event that benefited over 80 children.

With the support of generous donors, the charity provided new and gently used clothing to these children, many of whom had never experienced the joy of receiving new garments, especially from abroad. The event was held in the heart of the village, and the joy on the faces of the children and their families reflected the deep impact the organization's efforts had on the community.

For many of these children, new clothing represented more than just material goods—it boosted their confidence, provided physical comfort, and gave them a sense of dignity and care. Parents and guardians expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting how such donations eased their financial burdens and allowed them to allocate limited resources to other essential needs.

Through conversations with local leaders and families, the organization gained valuable insights that would help inform future initiatives and ensure that their efforts remained relevant and responsive to community priorities.

The return to Katubwe Village demonstrated DaMaC's commitment to building lasting relationships rather than engaging in one-time interventions. By consistently showing up and providing support, the organization has earned the trust and respect of community members, creating a foundation for sustainable impact and positive change.

This clothing donation event represented another important step in DaMaC's journey of service and highlighted the organization's growth and expanding reach since its inception in 2021. With each outreach effort, DaMaC continues to refine its approach, strengthen its partnerships, and deepen its impact on the communities it serves.

First COVID relief outreach in Katubwe

COVID Relief to Families in Katubwe Village

DaMaC Charity's journey of giving began in April 2021, when the world was still grappling with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a heartfelt effort to assist those who had been affected by the crisis, DaMaC provided relief to over 20 families in Katubwe Village.

This inaugural outreach was born from the vision of DaMaC's founder, Dan Magandazi, who was inspired to take action during the challenging times of the pandemic. With the support and encouragement of his parents, Pastor Dan and Rose Magandazi, he reached out to the people of Katubwe village, providing essential support when it was most needed.

In addition to food relief, the organization also distributed essential clothing to over 40 children in the community. The event was hosted at the Katubwe Gospel Church, where volunteers came together to ensure that the vulnerable members of the village received the help they desperately needed.

Impact Highlights:

  • Provided COVID-19 relief to over 20 families in Katubwe Village
  • Distributed essential food items to support families during a period of economic hardship
  • Provided clothing to more than 40 children in the community
  • Established DaMaC's presence and commitment to the Katubwe community
  • Formed the foundation for future community-based initiatives

This initial outreach marked the beginning of DaMaC's commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals, particularly during times of crisis. The pandemic had created unprecedented challenges for many families, with lockdowns and economic disruption exacerbating existing vulnerabilities and creating new hardships.

The positive reception from the community and the visible impact of this first intervention reinforced the importance of DaMaC's mission and inspired the organization to continue and expand its efforts. What began as a response to an immediate crisis evolved into a sustained commitment to serving vulnerable communities across Uganda.

This foundational outreach set the tone for DaMaC's approach: addressing immediate needs while building relationships that would enable longer-term impact. The seeds planted during this first initiative have grown into a robust organization dedicated to inspiring hope and creating positive change in communities throughout Uganda.

"I am deeply grateful to DaMaC Charity Organization for their life-changing support during their first outreach in 2021, when they provided food relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a member of the Katubwe Church, I can still remember how DaMaC's generosity helped us when we were struggling to make ends meet." — Namukasa Betty, Katubwe Church Member
